Clerk Grade 9/10 ($133348.00 - $146945.00)

Temporary (full time) until September 2028

Location: Parramatta, hybrid (2-3 days in the office per week)

Are you an experienced regulatory professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for protecting consumers? We are looking for a Principal Advisor, Compliance & Assessments to lead the assessment of complex regulatory matters and help shape compliance and enforcement outcomes that support a fair, safe and confident marketplace for the people of NSW.

In this role, you will provide expert regulatory advice, oversee the assessment of potential legislative breaches, and support informed decision-making on compliance and enforcement action. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging risks, influence regulatory responses, and contribute to strategic regulatory outcomes.

Qualifications and/or experience in law or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead and oversee assessments of alleged legislative breaches and determine appropriate regulatory responses.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on complex compliance, enforcement and regulatory matters.
- Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, submissions and recommendations to support regulatory decision-making.
- Identify, assess and escalate emerging regulatory risks and issues.
- Ensure regulatory activities are delivered in accordance with legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Support strategic compliance priorities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coach, mentor and support team members to build capability and maintain high-quality regulatory practices.
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders and represent the organisation on complex regulatory matters.

About You To be successful in this role,



you will demonstrate:
- Experience working in a government agency with regulatory, oversight or law enforcement responsibilities.
- Experience in delivering sound determinations of possible breaches of legislation and recommendations for further investigation and enforcement action based on legislative obligations and intelligence data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex information and make sound recommendations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level advice and reports.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualifications and/or experience in law, investigations, compliance, regulation or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Salary Grade 9/10,



with the base salary for this role starting at $133348.00 base plus superannuation
