About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Environmental / Contaminated Land to join our growing environmental team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated environmental professional who enjoys a combination of project management, technical delivery, client engagement and team leadership. You will be responsible for managing a diverse range of contaminated land and environmental projects from initial planning through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will have strong contaminated land experience, excellent project management skills and the ability to confidently manage projects, budgets, programs and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the successful delivery of allocated environmental and contaminated land projects from inception through to completion.
- Develop project strategies, scopes, programs and budgets to achieve project objectives.
- Act as Project Manager across multidisciplinary teams on complex contaminated land management (CLM) projects.
- Coordinate project delivery, including liaison with clients, consultants, contractors, regulators and internal staff.
- Manage project budgets, resources, timelines and deliverables to ensure projects are delivered within agreed parameters.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and variations.
- Prepare, review and oversee technical reports and project documentation to a high professional standard.
- Provide technical input and guidance on contaminated land investigations, assessments and remediation projects.
- Review and interpret environmental data and provide practical recommendations to clients.
- Coordinate and/or oversee field investigations, sampling programs, remediation works and remediation validation.

About you





- A relevant Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or related degree.
- 5+ years' relevant local Australian experience in environmental consulting, contaminated land or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental projects, including budgets, programs, resources and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of Australian contaminated land legislation, guidelines and assessment frameworks.
- Experience across contaminated land investigation and assessment projects.
- Experience with a range of contaminants, with exposure to chlorinated hydrocarbons, soil vapour and/or other complex contamination highly regarded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and review high-quality technical reports.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently communicate with clients, contractors, regulators and colleagues.
- A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake occasional field work.
