Genus is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Wodonga, Victoria. The Role The role will be responsible for the project’s safety, quality, programme and commercial performance. You will lead the team from design and construction through to commissioning and handover, while building strong relationships with the client, contractors and key stakeholders.
The role is open to candidates based across Australia, with a preference for those based in Victoria or Brisbane. A 2/1 DIDO or FIFO roster is available, depending on where you reside, with flexibility to discuss a roster that suits the right candidate.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading project delivery across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Managing project programmes, budgets, forecasts, resources and reporting.
- Driving safety, environmental and quality performance across the project.
- Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Managing contractual obligations, variations, claims and commercial risks.
- Monitoring progress, identifying delivery risks and implementing practical solutions.
- Maintaining strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring a structured approach to testing, commissioning, completion and handover.
- Building a collaborative and accountable project culture.
About You
- Proven experience managing BESS, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure or major construction projects.
- Robust understanding of project delivery across design, construction and commissioning.
- Demonstrated ability to manage safety, programme, cost,
quality and commercial outcomes.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Sound contractual and commercial capability, including forecasting, variations and risk management.
- Strong communication, negotiation and client-management skills.
- A practical leadership style and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
- Current working rights in Australia.
- Ability to work on site in Wodonga on an agreed DIDO or FIFO roster.
