About the Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Occupational Health & Recovery team within People & Culture at the Department of Customer Service (DCS).
As a Project Support Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of workplace health and safety (WHS) reporting and insights across DCS, while also providing administration and coordination support to the broader Occupational Health & Recovery team.
Working closely with the WHS Reporting & Insights Lead, you will assist with the preparation, maintenance and distribution of safety, workers compensation and recovery reporting, ensuring data is accurate, timely and supports informed decision-making. You will also provide project, administrative and operational support to a team responsible for workplace health, injury management, workers compensation and recovery outcomes across DCS.

Your Day-to-Day
Reporting to the Associate Director, Occupational Health & Recovery, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation and distribution of WHS, workers compensation and injury management reports and dashboards.
- Maintaining reporting schedules, templates, records and documentation to ensure consistent reporting practices.
- Assisting with data collection, validation and quality assurance activities to support accurate reporting and analysis.
- Preparing routine reports, presentations, briefing materials and business correspondence.
- Coordinating team meetings, agendas, minutes and action tracking.
- Managing team administration, including records management, procurement requests, onboarding support and maintenance of team resources.
- Supporting the coordination of projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activities within Occupational Health & Recovery.
- Responding to enquiries and acting as a key point of contact for administrative and reporting-related matters.
- Building effective working relationships with stakeholders across People & Culture and the wider department.
- Contributing to a positive team culture and delivering high-quality support services to internal customers.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience providing administrative, project or business support in a government or corporate environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with data and reporting information.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- The ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience supporting reporting, analytics or business intelligence activities.
- Exposure to workplace health and safety, workers compensation, injury management, human resources or related functions.
- Experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Qlik or similar platforms.
