Rockhampton
About us:
Welcome to Rockhampton Hospital, the major referral hospital for Central Queensland and a hub of maternity care for the region.
Our busy Maternity Service supports around 1,400 births each year, providing comprehensive Level 4 maternity care from antenatal and postnatal services through to birth, high-dependency care and specialised neonatal support.
With a 5-bed Birth Suite, 15-bed Antenatal/Postnatal Ward and Level 4 Special Care Nursery, you'll be part of a dynamic team caring for women and newborns across a diverse range of needs.
We're passionate about continuity of care, teamwork and strong community connections, with our Midwifery Group Practice providing all-risk continuity of care for women throughout their pregnancy and birth journey.
About the role:
- Build meaningful connections. Provide personalised, continuity-of-care midwifery support to an all-risk caseload of up to 40 women each year, from pregnancy through to birth and the postnatal period.
- Be there for the whole journey. Work across Maternity Services and the community, supporting women and their families through every stage of their pregnancy and birth experience.
- Be part of a fantastic team. Share your expertise, support fellow midwives and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based and high-quality care.
- Own your practice and grow. Work with increasing autonomy and clinical judgement, take accountability for your practice and contribute to the delegation and development of other members of the team.
About you:
- You're a Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration, passionate about providing holistic, culturally safe and personalised care to women and their families across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal journey.
- Confident working across the full scope of midwifery practice, with skills such as IV cannulation, water immersion and waterbirth, perineal suturing and speculum examination. Not quite there yet? We'll support you to complete the required training.
- Communicate confidently, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and enjoy supporting, mentoring and sharing your knowledge with newer and less experienced staff.
- Committed to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $171,401 p.a (including 35% caseload loading) is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $59.77 - $79.67 p.h. (including 35% caseload loading)
