About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Officer to oversee safety protocols and environmental compliance at their facility in Queenstown .
This role is essential for ensuring a secure working environment for all employees and maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and investigating incidents.
The ideal candidate is committed to fostering a strong safety culture and has a comprehensive understanding of EHS principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs .
Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate all workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses, preparing detailed incident reports and implementing preventative measures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and industry-specific EHS regulations and standards.




Develop and deliver EHS training to employees, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation, including permits, licenses, and safety audits.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as an EHS Officer or in a similar safety management role.
Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct effective investigations.
Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, OHSAS) is a significant advantage.
