Revenue Assistant

Based in Corowa, but will work across the Federation Council area

- Full-time, 70 hours per fortnight, 9-day fortnight
- Opportunity to grow and develop new skills

Council is seeking a dynamic, growth focused Revenue Assistant to join our Corporate and Community Services team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of key rating, property, and revenue systems.

Your area of responsibility?

- Revenue &
- Rating Systems: Assist with rating, water billing, and debt recovery systems, maintaining accurate data in line with statutory requirements.
- Certificates &
- Property Data: Process land transfers, Section 603 certificates, Special Water Meter Readings, and pension rebate applications.
- Stakeholder &
- Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships and resolve customer inquiries with professional negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Cross-Functional Relief &
- Upskilling: Act in a relief capacity across core finance functions,



including payroll, accounts payable, and stores expanding your skill set and operational exposure.
- Continuous Improvement &
- Governance: Assist with financial reporting, special project work, and system improvements to deliver high quality outcomes.

Selection Criteria (To address in your application) Please provide a brief statement or document addressing each of the following key criteria:

- Completion of Year 12 High School Certificate or relevant higher-level qualifications.
- Extensive demonstrated experience working in an office environment across finance, administration, and customer service.
- A current and valid Class "C" driver’s licence.
- Experience using financial software systems and knowledge of debtor/creditor processes.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), email systems,



and electronic records management systems (e.g., TRIM/Content Manager).
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, set priorities, and organise your workload independently to deliver quality results.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and customer conflict resolution.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $39.76 per hour with progression up to $43.89 per hour dependent upon skills and experience. How to find out more:
