Employment Type: Temporary Full Time

Position Classification: Staff Specialist

Hours Per Week: 40

Requisition ID: REQ698078

Applications via eCredential The Education Hub at Sydney Children's Hospital network are seeking a Temporary 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) Staff Specialist to join their team.

What You'll Be Doing The Staff Specialist (Paediatrician) provides senior clinical, academic and educational leadership within the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network Education Hub. The position supports the development and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based paediatric education that strengthens the capability of health professionals and contributes to improved health outcomes for children and young people across New South Wales.

The principal responsibility of the position is to manage and deliver the statewide ADHD GP Endorsed Prescriber Education Program. The program prepares eligible general practitioners to undertake an expanded role in the assessment, diagnosis and management of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, including prescribing within the applicable NSW legislative, regulatory and clinical framework.

The Staff Specialist will oversee delivery to approximately 300 GPs each semester through mandatory online learning, six compulsory Community of Practice sessions delivered across approximately 20 groups, monthly live webinars, and access to additional education, resources and support.

The position will also lead or contribute to the development and delivery of other statewide paediatric education initiatives as opportunities arise and as agreed with the Associate Director, SCHN Education Hub. This may include translating emerging health-system priorities into scalable education programs, developing partnerships with NSW Health and other stakeholders, and providing clinical and academic leadership from program design through to implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement.

The Staff Specialist will assist with the ongoing development and delivery of the Graduate Diploma in Child Health and associated online learning programs. This includes contributing to curriculum review, content development, teaching, assessment, academic quality assurance,

faculty support and the maintenance of contemporary, clinically relevant learning resources.

The position is primarily an education and workforce-capability role rather than a direct clinical service. Any separate clinical duties would require formal approval, credentialing and a defined scope of clinical practice.

Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff.

Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
