The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced contract accountant to assist with business and SMSF accounting and tax work. This is a 100% work-from-home role with an immediate start available. The workload is focused on businesses and SMSFs, with only occasional individual tax returns.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts and partnerships, plus a small number of individuals.

- Prepare SMSF financial statements, annual returns & audit workpapers.

- Prepare and review BAS and IAS.

- Complete tax reconciliations and year-end workpapers.





- Prepare capital gains tax calculations and Division 7A calculations and reconciliations.

- Prepare depreciation schedules and other supporting workpapers.

- Review client accounting records, identify required adjustments and follow up on missing information.

About You

- Tertiary qualification in accounting and at least three years’ experience in public practice.

- Hands-on experience with business tax and SMSF compliance.

- Proficiency in Xero and Xero Tax;

experience with SuperMate for SMSF.

- Able to manage your workload independently and communicate clearly with a remote team.
