Our client is a well-established Australian wealth management business located in the CBD who are looking to bring on a Senior Financial Accountant on an initial 6 month contract with the view to go permanent. The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately with a background in Big 4 audit in addition to their Financial reporting experience.
THE ROLE
- You'll own month-end, including accruals, prepayments and reclassification journals.
- You'll keep the general ledger accurate and complete, in line with accounting policies and standards.
- You'll manage balance sheet controls, investigate reconciliation items and keep clear audit trails through month-end and year-end.
- You'll prepare statutory financial statements and disclosures, support the audit, and write technical accounting papers and supporting board papers.
- You'll bring your technical judgement to accounting standards issues, particularly leasing (AASB 16).
- You'll help improve processes, controls and data quality, and support finance transformation and system implementation work.
- You'll work with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to resolve accounting,
reporting and reconciliation queries.
ABOUT YOU
- CA qualified or equivalent required
- You have at least five years' experience in a similar role, ideally in financial services.
- You have strong technical accounting knowledge, and hands-on experience with AASB 16 Leases is highly regarded.
- A Big 4 audit background is ideal
- You have experience with Workday or a similar finance system, along with strong Excel skills.
- You communicate clearly, work well with stakeholders, and can deliver independently from day one.
- You're available immediately or at short notice.
