We’re partnering with an established and growing Australian business to recruit a Senior Project Accountant into their Western Sydney team.

This is a broad position sitting between Finance and Operations, where you’ll have visibility across the full financial lifecycle of large-scale projects. You’ll work with Project Managers and senior stakeholders to understand costs, investigate variances, improve forecasting and ensure project financials remain accurate and commercially meaningful.

It would particularly suit someone coming from construction, engineering, infrastructure or another project-led business who is ready for more responsibility and exposure.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day will include:

- Preparing and analysing monthly project financial results
- Maintaining accurate project budgets and forecasts
- Reviewing actual and committed costs across projects
- Monitoring project profitability and margin movements
- Preparing WIP and revenue reporting
- Investigating financial variances and providing commentary
- Assisting with cashflow forecasting and project billing
- Supporting month-end reporting and reconciliations
- Working directly with Project Managers to improve financial visibility
- Ensuring project financial information is accurate and up to date
- Identifying areas where reporting and finance processes can be improved

Rather than sitting solely within the finance team,



you’ll build strong relationships across the business and become a key point of contact for project-related financial information.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

- Experience in Project Accounting, Management Accounting or a similar commercially focused accounting position
- Strong month-end and management reporting experience
- Exposure to project costing, WIP, budgeting and forecasting
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate financial variances
- Confidence communicating with operational and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering or a project-based environment will be highly regarded
- Relevant accounting qualifications
