Shadbolt Group is a growing Tier 2 Australian company delivering fabrication, modularisation and sustainment solutions across Defence, Maritime and major infrastructure programs.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who thrives in a hands-on environment and can bring together planning, people, projects and commercial outcomes.

This is more than a traditional project management role. You'll work closely with our General Manager - Defence (NSW), Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and trades teams to keep projects moving, solve problems and deliver for our clients.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager - Defence (NSW), you will take a senior role across a portfolio of defence and industrial projects, with responsibility for planning, scheduling, project controls, client engagement and operational delivery.

You will also act as 2IC to the General Manager, stepping into a leadership role across site activities when required.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

- Lead project planning and scheduling, primarily using MS Project
- Manage schedules, milestones, resources and delivery risks
- Support projects through procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors to align scope, resources and budgets
- Be a key Shadbolt representative at client planning and progress meetings
- Maintain strong day-to-day engagement with site teams and frontline trades
- Identify schedule and delivery risks and drive practical solutions
- Monitor productivity, resource allocation and project performance
- Contribute to project controls, WIP and cost-to-complete forecasting
- Lead and support customer quotations and commercial opportunities
- Provide clear project reporting to senior leadership and clients




- Lead site activities and operations in the absence of the General Manager

About You You're a confident project professional who can move comfortably between the boardroom, the project plan and the worksite.

You Will Bring

- 8-10+ years' experience in project management and/or planning

- Experience in Defence, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure or heavy industry
- Strong capability in MS Project and/or Primavera P6
- Experience with scheduling, progress tracking and project controls
- A practical understanding of fabrication, construction and site installation
- Solid commercial awareness and the ability to understand project costs and forecasts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to lead across multidisciplinary teams and at all levels
- A White Card
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum NV1 Defence Security Clearance
- Relevant qualifications in project management, engineering, construction or a related discipline are highly regarded
- Knowledge of ASDEFCON, Defence project frameworks and/or DISP will be advantageous
