Primary objective

Provide professional leadership, oversight, coordination and reporting of Computed Tomography (CT) operations across Royal Darwin and

Palmerston Hospitals and ensure delivery of high quality, accurate, safe and consistently excellent diagnostic and interventional medical imaging.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services,



including participation in the shift and on-call roster on a rotating basis to ensure 24-

hour medical imaging coverage of Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital (RDPH) across imaging modalities.
1. Provide advanced clinical expertise, specialist advice and leadership within CT service, and broader medical imaging team.
2. Conduct training and supervision of trainees and radiographers working within CT.
3. Undertake regular reviews of departmental processes, procedures, documentation and guidelines ongoing to ensure alignment with

contemporary practice standards, legislative requirements and accreditation frameworks.
1. Support clinical trials including education to medical imaging team on trial requirements.
2. Identify workforce capability gaps, contribute to workforce planning initiatives and participate in recruitment activities.
3. Support and provide education for ancillary staff within medical imaging department.
4. Managing inventory processes, including stock ordering, rotation and stocktakes.
5. Monitor workforce, service demand, productivity and resource utilisation, contributing to operational reporting and service

improvements.
1. Contribute to the strategic and operational development of CT services through quality improvement activities, change management

initiatives and implementation of best practice models of care.

Provide guidance and support for team members to drive and develop skills, knowledge and change initiatives.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Degree in Medical Radiations or equivalent from a registered University, which allows eligibility for registration as a Medical Radiation

Practitioner with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
1. Extensive experience in various fields of CT, including advanced imaging, protocol development and post processing.
2. Proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring, with highly developed

communication and interpersonal skills, whilst also maintaining a strong focus on patient-centred care.
1. Demonstrated high level knowledge of contemporary medical imaging practices, professional standards and procedures.
2. Demonstrate a high level of initiative, strategic thinking, planning and problem solving in a complex clinical environment.

Desirable

1. Post graduate qualifications in CT and/or Leadership and Management or a willingness to obtain.
2. ASMIRT CT Certification, or willingness to obtain.
