This is a 12-month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027 with possible extension and/or permanency.

Cannington Community College is in the heart of the City of Canning business precinct, which is currently undergoing broad-scale redevelopment. It is anticipated that the College will continue to grow with the advent of extra housing development in the adjacent Coker Park area over the next few years. The Role

The successful applicant should be a student-and relationship-focused educator who can deliver purposeful, inclusive and engaging Health and Physical Education programs that respond to the diverse needs of our students.

Within HPE, the successful applicant should promote student participation, wellbeing, physical literacy, teamwork and healthy lifestyle choices through engaging practical and classroom-based learning experiences. They should display the professional knowledge and experience required to develop and implement relevant secondary HPE curriculum and provide learning opportunities that are purposeful, accessible and responsive to different student needs.

The successful applicant should effective classroom management, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. They should be an innovative and motivated practitioner who works collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning, assessment and the ongoing development of teaching and learning programs. A commitment to high-quality teaching, professional growth and regular self-reflection will be important, along with the ability to create positive learning environments where students feel supported, engaged and encouraged to achieve their best.

Due to the diverse nature of our school and the needs of our students,



staff may be required to teach some classes outside of their primary learning area. For this position, the ability and willingness to teach lower school Science, Mathematics and/or Auslan would be highly desirable.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
