Bring your technical expertise, innovative thinking and commitment to quality to UniSQ’s Information Technology and Digital Services team. As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development, integration, support, maintenance and enhancement of the University’s enterprise applications and IT projects.

You are an analytical and solutions-focused software professional who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver reliable, high-quality applications. You apply sound judgement, take responsibility for outcomes and use innovation to develop practical solutions to diverse technical and workplace challenges. You communicate clearly with internal and external clients, maintain confidentiality and contribute positively within team environments.
What you'll do
You'll play a key role in delivering and enhancing enterprise applications that support the University's operations. Working within the Enterprise Solutions team, you'll contribute across the software development lifecycle, helping to ensure applications are secure, reliable, scalable and aligned with business needs. In doing so, you will:
- Design, develop, test and implement new applications and enhancements to existing systems;
- Collaborate with colleagues through peer, project and code reviews to maintain high-quality solutions and best practice standards;
- Document applications, processes and technical solutions to support ongoing maintenance, support and knowledge sharing;
- Assess emerging technologies and contribute recommendations that improve the security, quality and availability of enterprise systems;
- Monitor service delivery outcomes, identify emerging issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the application environment.
What will help you succeed
We're looking for a collaborative and technically capable software professional who enjoys solving problems, working with stakeholders and delivering practical outcomes. You'll combine strong technical foundations with analytical thinking, effective communication and a commitment to continuous improvement. Furthermore:
- A degree in computing or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training;
- Knowledge of data and business analysis and an understanding of project management practices and methodologies;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and provide advice to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders;
- A collaborative approach, sound analytical skills and a proven ability to develop innovative solutions and deliver results in a team environment.

Salary: Total remuneration range $112,359 to $121,689 pa (includes salary range of $94,757 to $102,626 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
