Role Description The Solar & Battery Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW. This position focuses on the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of commercial solar PV and battery storage systems. Day-to-day tasks include running and terminating AC/DC cabling, installing inverters and batteries, completing switchboard upgrades, and performing electrical testing and fault-finding to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.

The role also involves interpreting electrical and solar design plans, completing compliance documentation, liaising with clients on-site, and coordinating with project managers and installers to deliver high-quality work.



The electrician is expected to uphold strict safety standards, follow relevant Australian regulations, and support ongoing service and warranty work across customer sites.

Qualifications

- Valid Australian Electrical License with experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations, including AC and DC systems.
- Proven experience with solar PV systems and battery storage, such as inverter installation, panel wiring, battery integration, and system commissioning.
- Strong skills in electrical fault-finding, testing, and diagnostics, using appropriate instruments and adhering to safety standards and Australian regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, solar design layouts, and technical documentation, and to complete accurate compliance and installation reports.
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including working at heights, manual handling, and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with installers, engineers, project managers, and clients on-site.
- Positive organizational and time-management abilities, including planning daily tasks, meeting project deadlines, and maintaining tidy, compliant work areas.
- Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to commercial sites within Sydney and surrounding regions as required.
- Experience in commercial solar projects, grid connection processes, or energy storage systems is highly regarded.
