About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Strength and Conditioning Facilitator to join the College for a 12 month fixed-term contract, commencing as soon as possible. This is a part-time position, working 14 hours per week, in student term time only.
Based at our Purruna Strength and Conditioning Gym, this role provides an exciting opportunity to work with school-aged athletes across a range of sports, designing and delivering engaging strength and conditioning programs that support athletic development, injury prevention and lifelong health and fitness.
You will work closely with the Director of Sport, Heads of Sport and Health and Physical Education staff to maximise the use of our strength and conditioning facilities and integrate strength and conditioning into our broader sporting, curriculum and wellbeing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coaching, supervision and guidance to students and staff using the Purruna Strength and Conditioning Gym.
- Design and deliver age-appropriate strength and conditioning programs for individual students and sporting teams.
- Support students to develop their understanding of strength and conditioning,
injury prevention and athletic development.
- Build positive relationships with students and provide motivation, guidance and support.
- Monitor gym use, student participation and progress, and maintain appropriate records.
- Provide education and professional development opportunities to coaches and staff to build understanding of strength and conditioning principles.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual who is passionate about strength and conditioning, athletic development and the wellbeing of young people.
You will bring
- Appropriate Strength and Conditioning accreditation or Fitness Certification.
- Previous experience working in a strength and conditioning or fitness facility.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate exercise programming and the AUS Active Children’s Fitness Guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and sporting teams.
- A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for all students.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to develop healthy, active lifestyles and reach their potential.
Incumbents will be required to attain and maintain a valid Working with Children Check, RRHAN-EC (Masterclass), Protective Practices and First Aid certification. If you don’t hold these certifications yet, you can still apply and if successful would be required to obtain these prior to commencement.
