Casual opportunity - approximately 20 hours per week
Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our Sport Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver high-quality Strength & Conditioning and Health & Fitness programs for MLC students and athletes, working closely with the Head of Athlete Development and broader Sport Department.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
- Designing and delivering progressive, engaging and individualised Strength & Conditioning programs for MLC students and athletes.
- Supporting the physical development and fundamental movement pathways across Sport and Health & Fitness.
- Developing and monitoring testing and reporting frameworks for functional movement, strength and conditioning.
- Incorporating standardised warm-up and cool-down protocols into programs.
- Working with external medical providers to support appropriate injury rehabilitation pathways.
- Using programming software and velocity-based training technology to support program delivery and monitoring.
- Building positive relationships across the Sport Department and contributing to an inclusive, values-driven culture.
- There may be scope for additional hours across other Sport programs for a suitably experienced candidate.
About you
We are looking for a qualified Strength & Conditioning professional who is passionate about working with young people and supporting their physical development.
Essential
- Available early mornings between Monday and Saturday, 5.00am – 8.00am.
- Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Health Sciences or equivalent.
- ASCA Level 1 S&C; Accreditation and/or Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness/Personal Training.
- Current and valid First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training,
or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in Strength & Conditioning and relevant programming.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Competence with technology, including programming software and velocity-based training.
- Professional approach and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Understanding of and commitment to the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Exercise Science/Health Sciences or equivalent.
- ASCA Level 2 S&C; Accreditation or above and/or CSCS.
- Experience as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for aquatic sports and/or athletes.
