About the Role

Arndell Anglican College is seeking a practical and experienced TAS Technical Aide to join our Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) Department from Term 1 2027 on a part-time basis, working one day per week, 8.00am–4.00pm during term time. The role provides technical and practical support to TAS teaching staff and students across our workshops, Design Studio and practical learning environments. The successful applicant will have a sound working knowledge of TAS equipment, materials and protected workshop practices, including hand and power tools, machinery, timber and metal preparation and associated materials.

Responsibilities will include preparing resources and equipment for practical lessons, assisting staff and students with the safe and correct use of machinery and tools, undertaking routine equipment maintenance, maintaining clean and organised workshops and studios, and supporting the smooth delivery of practical learning programs. On-the-job training will be provided and the role may suit a retired tradesperson, experienced tradesperson, ex-TAS teacher or someone with relevant workshop experience looking to contribute to a vibrant school environment.

The TAS Technical Aide will also oversee the department’s equipment, resources and consumables, including maintaining inventory and asset records, monitoring stock levels, ordering materials, coordinating routine servicing and maintenance, liaising with external technicians and suppliers, and ensuring equipment, tools and materials are stored, maintained and operated in accordance with Work Health and Safety requirements. The successful applicant will have strong WHS knowledge in a workshop environment, good organisational and computer skills, the ability to manage stock and maintenance schedules, and a practical and proactive approach to supporting staff and students. A current Working With Children Check and First Aid Certificate are required, or a willingness to obtain these prior to commencing.

The role may occasionally involve meetings, College activities, training or other duties outside normal hours.

About You The successful applicant will:

- Good organisational and computer skills

- Be committed to pastoral care of both staff, students, and parents / carers and have a knowledge of the social and emotional issues which affect young people.





- Act in a manner that enhances the College’s reputation and standing in the community.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

- Working knowledge of TAS (Technological and Applied Studies) equipment, materials and chemicals, and the WHS covering these

- First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain before commencing)

- Ability to order and maintain stock

- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain before commencing)

- Ability to maintain and schedule technicians for routine maintenance on machinery, equipment and tools.

- Strong knowledge of WHS in relation to workshop environments
