About the RoleThe City of Wanneroo is seeking a Traffic Management Officer to support safe, compliant and effective traffic management across roadworks and events within the City’s jurisdiction. Reporting to the Principal Specialist Traffic Services, this role will assess, coordinate and authorise Traffic Management Plans, undertake site inspections and compliance checks, and provide transparent technical advice to internal teams, contractors, consultants, government authorities and utility service providers.
You will play a key role in ensuring works within road reserves are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, codes, legislation and the City’s Instrument of Authorisation from Main Roads WA. Your work will help keep our roads, worksites, events and community spaces moving safely and efficiently.
About You
You are a practical, solutions-focused traffic management professional who can combine strong technical judgement with clear communication and stakeholder engagement. You will be confident reviewing Traffic Management Plans, undertaking compliance audits, resolving onsite traffic management issues and maintaining accurate records, registers and correspondence.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Worksite Traffic Manager and Advanced Worksite Traffic Management accreditation.
- A Construction Safety Induction Card, commonly known as a White Card.
- A current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Substantial experience coordinating roadworks traffic management in a supervisor, design or coordinator capacity.
- Practical experience applying current Western Australian traffic management standards and technical requirements.
- Highly developed technical traffic management skills, including implementation, design and coordination.
- Strong written, verbal communication, negotiation,
research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed organisation, time management and administration skills, including Microsoft Office and record keeping.
- The ability to build effective working relationships and provide responsive customer service.
- Comprehensive knowledge of traffic management for roadworks and events, including relevant standards, codes and legislation.
