We are looking for a Training Instructional Designer to develop practical, engaging learning experiences that help our people feel prepared and confident as we deliver the People Permits and Properties Project.
About The Role
As the Training Instructional Designer, you will support the successful delivery of the People Permits and Properties Project by designing, developing and helping deliver training strategies, materials and learning activities. The role works closely with the Change Manager, project team, business functional specialists and vendor partners to build knowledge, confidence and capability across Council.
This fixed-term, full-time role is based at our Camberwell office and may work across other Council locations as required. You will contribute to a customer-first transformation program that includes new processes, new technology and changes to ways of working.
About You
You are an experienced learning and development skilled who understands adult learning principles and knows how to design training that is clear, accessible and useful. You bring strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and you are comfortable working with subject matter experts, project teams and employees across different work areas.
You can manage competing priorities, use feedback to improve learning outcomes and create high-quality resources for face-to-face, virtual and blended delivery. A relevant qualification in learning and development, training, education, human resources or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, will support success in this role.
Key Responsibilities In this role, you will design, develop and deliver learning programs for the People Permits and Properties Project in consultation with key stakeholders. You will create learning resources, facilitator guides, assessments,
eLearning content and digital materials that support employees to understand and apply new systems, processes and ways of working.
You will contribute to the training approach by conducting training needs analysis, preparing schedules, supporting train-the-trainer activities and providing guidance to those involved in delivery. You will also evaluate learning effectiveness, use feedback and data to identify improvements, and help ensure training is timely, relevant and aligned with project priorities.

Employment Requirements
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, contemporary facilitation techniques and instructional design.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Learning & Development, Training, Education,
Human Resources or a related discipline, or substantial relevant experience coupled with a Certificate IV in training and Assessment TAE40122.
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
