Description

Veterinarian – Full Time or Part Time

Veterinary medicine is challenging enough.

The hospital you work in should give you the people, systems and support you need to do your best work.

That’s why we’ve built Brighton Veterinary Hospital around great people, strong systems, modern facilities and a genuine commitment to supporting one another.

We’re fortunate to have a well-balanced veterinary team with a broad mix of experience, which means we’re open to veterinarians at different stages of their careers and to both full-time and part-time applicants.

What matters most to us is finding the right person for our team.

Welcome to Brighton Veterinary Hospital

Brighton Veterinary Hospital is one of Australia’s newest independently owned, purpose-built veterinary hospitals, designed around exceptional patient care, Fear Free principles and creating an environment where veterinarians and nurses can do their best work.

Our hospital features dedicated canine and feline facilities, advanced surgery and dentistry, ultrasound, digital imaging, spacious treatment areas and thoughtfully designed workflows.

A Hospital Where You’ll Grow

We’re a busy hospital, and that’s one of our greatest strengths.

There is a real pace to the day at Brighton. Our veterinarians manage a varied caseload, make decisions, keep cases moving and work together to respond to whatever the day brings. At times there is pressure to keep moving, and we don’t pretend otherwise.

What we do work hard to provide is the team and structure around you to help you manage that workload well.

We believe people should spend as much of their day as possible doing the work they’re trained to do. Our nurses genuinely nurse, and we have dedicated support staff, including a veterinary cleaner, so our clinical team isn’t routinely spending valuable time on tasks that can be done by someone else.

Our veterinarians collaborate on cases and ask for help when they need it. You’ll see a wide variety of cases, develop your clinical judgement and efficiency, and continually build your confidence and skills.

We also believe in a balanced approach to referral. We have the equipment, facilities and experience to manage the vast majority of cases in-house, while recognising when referral is in a patient’s best interests.

The Clients We Care For

We’re incredibly grateful for the clients who choose Brighton Veterinary Hospital.

They trust our recommendations, value thorough investigations and see us as partners in their pet’s healthcare. That trust allows us to have the conversations that matter and practise thoughtful, evidence-based medicine.

The relationships we’ve built with our clients are one of the reasons Brighton is such an enjoyable and professionally rewarding place to practise.

Is Brighton Right for You?

We’re proud of the culture we’ve built, and we’re equally committed to protecting it.

A good workplace culture doesn’t mean nobody ever leaves. Like every workplace, people join us and people move on. What matters to us is the environment we create while people are here.

We want Brighton to be a workplace where people are respected, supported to do their jobs well, comfortable asking for help and encouraged to contribute ideas.

You’ll probably love working at Brighton if you enjoy a busy hospital, interesting cases and continual learning. We value people who ask questions, share ideas, support their teammates and celebrate each other’s successes.

Brighton probably isn’t the right fit if you’re looking for a quiet caseload, prefer to work in isolation or are reluctant to seek help when you need it.

We have zero tolerance for workplace gossip and negativity. We work hard, support each other and treat people with kindness and respect.

Leadership That Listens

We’re proud of what we’ve built, but we know there’s always room to improve.

Our leadership team works alongside our veterinarians and nurses every day. We see the pressures of a busy day, listen to the people doing the work and continually look for ways to make things better.

Who We’re Looking For

Because we have a veterinary team with a good balance of experience, we can consider applicants from a wide range of backgrounds.

You might be an experienced veterinarian, an early-career vet or a new graduate. We’re open to both full-time and part-time applicants, with support tailored to your experience and stage of career.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, thrives in a busy environment and shares our commitment to excellent patient and client care.

International Applicants & Sponsorship

Veterinarians requiring sponsorship are very welcome to apply, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Applicants must be eligible for full registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia (VSBSA). We are not able to support supervised practice registration.

If you’re looking for a hospital where you can practise great medicine, continue growing throughout your career and be part of a team that genuinely works together, we’d love to hear from you.

Come and have a coffee, meet the team and see whether Brighton Veterinary Hospital feels like the right fit for you.
