About C+M Build Group
C+M Build Group is a multi-disciplined design, engineering, and construction services provider. Insurance building is a core part of our business. We sit on the builders' panels of a number of large national insurers and deliver make-safe works, scopes of works, repair quotes, causation reports, and full reinstatement works.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients and their customers, often at stressful times for the insured. Getting our estimates and reports right the first time is central to that success.

Role Purpose
The Quality Auditor is the final quality checkpoint before our estimates and building assessment reports are issued to clients. Working closely with our estimators and assessors, you will review each document for technical accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with client and insurer requirements. Your meticulous eye ensures everything we send out is accurate, well-supported, and ready for approval. Where needed, you will also step in to support the estimating team with reviewing, correcting, and helping to prepare estimates.
Key Responsibilities

- Estimate Quality Audits: Review estimators’ estimates before client release, confirming accuracy and completeness. Verify quantities, measurements, rates, labour allowances, trade breakdowns, preliminaries, and margins. Ensure scopes align with damage, site findings, and repair strategies while flagging over/under-scoping or pricing anomalies.
- Building Assessment Report Audits: Review reports for structure, technical accuracy, and professional presentation. Ensure the cause of damage, observations, photos, and evidence clearly support the conclusions and match the accompanying estimate. Check compliance with NCC/BCA, Australian Standards, and client templates.
- Estimating Support: Assist estimators with preparing, reviewing, or amending estimates for complex or high-value claims. Provide guidance on scoping and pricing,

and support the team during peak periods and catastrophe (CAT) events.
- Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement: Maintain an audit register tracking reviewed documents, issues found, and turnaround times. Identify recurring error trends to report to management, contribute to checklist/rate library developments, and help coach estimators to improve first-time-right quality.

EssentialSkills & Experience:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in insurance building (estimating, assessing, scoping, or quality review).
- Sound understanding of building assessment report structures, residential construction methods, and materials.
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans, scopes of works, photos, and site notes.
- Solid grasp of estimating principles, quantities, trade rates, and pricing.
- Exceptional attention to detail alongside strong written communication and computer literacy (MS Office).

Desirable:

- Trade qualification or Certificate IV / Diploma in Building and Construction.
- Experience with estimating and claims platforms (e.g., Xactimate, Buildsoft, or insurer portals).
- Prior experience working on an insurer builders panel or dealing with Catastrophe (CAT) events.
- Background in a quality assurance, auditing, or technical review role.
- Working knowledge of the NCC / BCA and relevant Australian Standards.

Key Attributes

- Meticulous: A keen eye for detail with a methodical, consistent approach to reviewing documents.
- Constructive: Able to give clear, constructive, and respectful feedback to estimators and assessors.
- Organised: Able to manage a steady workload, prioritise urgent items, and meet strict turnaround times.
- Accountable: Takes ownership of quality and is comfortable making the call on whether a document is ready to go.
- Team-oriented: Works productively with estimators, assessors, project managers, and the wider C+M team.

Please note: The successful candidate must have the right to work in Australia and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination and criminal background check where required.
