Role Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Social Worker to provide structured casework for people recovering from substance dependence.
As part of a holistic operation, you will deliver assessment, counselling, treatment planning and group work within a multidisciplinary service. You will support clients throughout their treatment journey, from initial engagement through to post-treatment follow-up.
Key Responsibilities

- Complete comprehensive alcohol and other drug assessments and develop individual treatment plans
- Provide one-to-one counselling and facilitate structured therapeutic groups
- Manage an average caseload of five clients in active treatment, alongside pre-entry and post-treatment work
- Coordinate referrals and liaise with healthcare professionals, community services and referral agencies
- Advocate for clients and help them access services that support their recovery
- Involve whānau and other significant people in treatment where appropriate
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential case notes, reports and client records
- Contribute clinical insight, cultural awareness and client advocacy within the wider team
- Participate in clinical supervision, professional development and quality-improvement activities

About You
You will bring sound clinical judgement, a respectful approach and the ability to build constructive relationships with people experiencing addiction.
You will also have:

- Full registration as a Qualified Health Practitioner (eg Social Worker, Counsellor, DAPAANZ) and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- At least two years’ relevant qualified experience




- Experience supporting people affected by addiction, including individual and group-based work
- A strong understanding of culturally safe practice and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including professional case-note and report writing
- Strong organisation, administration and digital record-keeping skills
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries, discretion and confidentiality
