CLH (NSW) Pty Ltd trading as Candelori's is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our busy Italian restaurant in Smithfield, Sydney. Candelori's has been serving authentic Italian cuisine for over 25 years, offering handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, premium meats, seafood dishes, and contemporary Italian fine dining. About the Role
The successful applicant will assist with the preparation and cooking of Italian meals while supporting the kitchen team in maintaining high food quality and efficient kitchen operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with restaurant standards
- Assisting with the preparation of pasta, pizza, meat, seafood, salads, and dessert dishes
- Preparing ingredients and ensuring kitchen stations are properly stocked
- Monitoring food quality and presentation during service
- Ensuring cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and food preparation areas
- Following food safety, hygiene, and WHS procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and storage of food supplies
- Working collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
Skills and Experience
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook or in a commercial kitchen environment
- Experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality venue
- Experience with Italian cuisine is highly regarded
- Good understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced team environment
- Reliable, organised, and able to work flexible hours including weekends
