As our Warehouse & Yard Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse and yard are well organised, adequately stocked and operating efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and yard
- Managing and supervising warehouse and yard staff
- Maintaining accurate inventory and stock control systems
- Tracking the location and availability of plant, tools and equipment
- Ensuring tools and equipment are returned, stored correctly and accounted for
- Ordering materials, tools, consumables and equipment from suppliers as required
- Liaising with suppliers and coordinating deliveries
- Monitoring stock levels and anticipating upcoming requirements
- Receiving, checking and organising deliveries
- Maintaining a clean,
safe and well-organised warehouse and yard
About you
- Proven experience in warehouse or yard management
- Strong inventory and stock control experience
- Experience managing and coordinating a team
- Experience ordering from suppliers and managing supplier relationships
- Solid organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to keep track of multiple items of plant, tools and equipment
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Good communication and people-management skills
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
