Operations Manager – Technology & Infrastructure

Our client is a growing technology and infrastructure business with an established project and service operation, and they are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help take the business to its next stage.

This is a genuine opportunity to step into a position with broad operational ownership and real commercial influence.

You'll have a seat at the table with senior leadership, working across projects, service delivery, people, clients, suppliers and commercial performance. You'll be given the opportunity to improve how the business operates, build capability within the team and put the systems and processes in place to support continued growth.

What you'll be doing

You'll be the person making sure the operation works.
That means:

- Taking ownership of project and service delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Leading and developing technicians, subcontractors and operational staff
- Planning labour, resources, equipment and subcontractor requirements
- Making sure new work transitions smoothly from sales into delivery
- Keeping projects on track commercially, operationally and from a client perspective
- Monitoring margins, costs, variations, productivity and resource utilisation
- Building accurate forecasts around revenue, margin, labour and capacity
- Identifying delivery risks early and taking action before they become problems




- Working closely with sales and engineering to ensure projects are properly scoped and resourced
- Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and delivery partners
- Improving the systems, processes and reporting that underpin the operation
- Developing the capability of the team and creating a stronger operational structure as the business grows
- Identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support further business development

This is about more than project delivery We're looking for someone who understands the commercial side of operations.

Someone who can look at a pipeline of work and understand:
Do we have the people?
Do we have the capacity?
Will we make the margin?
Where are the risks?
What needs to change?

You'll need to be comfortable making decisions, holding people accountable and having commercially focused conversations with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

At the same time, you'll be responsible for building a team that can consistently deliver.

What you'll bring
We're interested in people who have built their career in environments such as:

- Technology and systems integration
- Audiovisual
- Electrical
- Communications
- Construction
- Infrastructure
- Fire and life safety
- Other project-based technical environments

You'll ideally have:





- 5+ years' experience in a senior operations, delivery or similar management role
- Experience managing multiple projects and service workstreams simultaneously
- Strong commercial understanding of project delivery, contracts and service operations
- Experience with budgets, forecasting and P&L; management
- A track record of improving productivity, utilisation, margins and delivery performance
- Experience leading, coaching and developing technical or operational teams
- Strong stakeholder and client-management skills
- The ability to manage difficult conversations and resolve issues quickly
- Strong understanding of WHS, quality, risk and compliance
- A practical, commercially minded approach to problem solving
- A current driver's licence
