Wheelers Hill - Junior Campus

The Role

Caulfield Grammar School is seeking an experienced and inspiring early childhood leader to join our community as Head of Early Learning Centre to work at our Wheelers Hill Junior campus on a full-time permanent basis with a 5-year fixed term leadership position of responsibility.

Working closely with the Deputy Principal, Head of Campus, the Head of ELC will provide educational, operational and people leadership across the Centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a high-quality early learning program, lead a committed team and ensure children experience a safe, inclusive and engaging environment in which they can thrive.

Key Duties

- Provide strategic, educational and operational leadership, ensuring the ELC aligns with the School’s vision, values and priorities.
- Lead the development and evaluation of engaging, inclusive and play-based programs aligned with relevant early learning frameworks.
- Lead, mentor and develop ELC staff, fostering a collaborative, engaged and high-performing team culture.
- Build strong partnerships with children, families and colleagues while supporting effective transitions into Junior School.
- Oversee staffing, budgets, resources, policies, the Quality Improvement Plan and all regulatory, child safety and compliance requirements.
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.

Skills and Experience

- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification.
- Hold an appropriate first aid training certificate, which complies with the requirements of the Children’s Services Regulations 1998, including Level 2 First Aid qualifications, CPR and anaphylaxis management training.
- Demonstrated experience leading a high-quality early learning program, with experience working within a school-based ELC program is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of approved learning frameworks,



the National Quality Framework and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading teams, implementing change and driving continuous improvement.
- Highly developed communication, organisational and relationship management skills, with a strong commitment to inclusion, child safety and the School’s values.
- Hold a current VIT Registration.
