Solution Architect – Infrastructure

Location: Brisbane, QLD
Rate: $1,200/day + super
Contract: 6-month contract with potential extension
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Start: October 2026

We’re seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Infrastructure to join the Digital & Information team of a leading Queensland utility organisation.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure or Solution Architect to support the design and delivery of robust, scalable and secure infrastructure solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

Working closely with Project Managers, the Project Delivery team and other Solution Architects, you’ll provide architectural guidance across infrastructure projects, support key project design approval gates and develop both high-level conceptual and detailed technical designs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and assure infrastructure solutions across servers, virtualisation, cloud, networks, desktop infrastructure and systems integration.
- Provide architectural support across infrastructure projects from initial concept through to delivery.
- Work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams at key project gates to review and approve technical designs.
- Develop high-level conceptual architectures and detailed technical designs aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with other Solution Architects, including specialists across VMware, Citrix and cloud technologies.
- Assess existing infrastructure environments and identify opportunities for improvement, modernisation and optimisation.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on infrastructure architecture, integration, security, scalability and resilience.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture, security requirements, standards and governance.
- Support project teams in resolving complex technical and architectural challenges.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps, architectural frameworks, standards and design documentation.




- Work with technical and business stakeholders to communicate architectural decisions and recommendations.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 6–10 years’ experience in enterprise IT, Infrastructure Architecture or Solution Architecture.
- Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise infrastructure solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise across servers, virtualisation, cloud and infrastructure technologies.
- Strong knowledge of VMware and/or Citrix environments.
- Experience with Azure or other enterprise cloud environments.
- Proven ability to develop both conceptual/high-level and detailed technical designs.
- Experience working on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure integration, security, resilience and scalability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
- Experience working within complex enterprise, government, utilities or other highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry certifications are desirable.
