Western Sydney | Senior Leadership Prospect | Manufacturing & Pharmaceutical Environment

Are you an experienced HSE/HSES professional looking for the opportunity to take ownership of safety, environment and sustainability across a complex, highly regulated operation>

We are seeking an experienced HSES Manager to lead the Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability function across a major Western Sydney site, supporting manufacturing, warehousing, laboratory, engineering, maintenance and remote operations.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you will have the opportunity to influence culture, strengthen systems, manage critical risks and work closely with senior leaders to continually improve safety and environmental performance.

About the Role As HSES Manager, you will take ownership of the site's HSES framework and help build a proactive, accountable and continuously improving safety culture.

- $130,000 - $140,000 + Super

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing, implementing and continually improving HSES systems, procedures, standards and programs
- Ensuring compliance with NSW WHS legislation, SafeWork NSW requirements, codes of practice and relevant regulatory obligations
- Providing practical HSES leadership across manufacturing, warehousing, laboratories, engineering and maintenance operations
- Supporting safe work practices for employees, contractors, visitors and remote workers
- Leading incident and near-miss investigations, corrective actions and lessons learned
- Coordinating workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and critical control reviews
- Facilitating HSR engagement, HSES committees, toolbox talks and safety communication
- Managing injury management,



workers compensation and return-to-work activities in conjunction with external providers
- Monitoring HSES performance indicators and providing clear reporting to site and senior leadership
- Leading process safety governance across operational areas
- Coordinating risk assessments for high-risk work, hazardous chemicals, plant, forklifts and contractors
- Providing HSES governance around controlled Schedule 8 and Schedule D drugs, including receipt, storage, movement, use and security
- Liaising with regulators, security providers, emergency services and other external stakeholders
- Maintaining strong emergency preparedness and response processes
- Driving sustainability initiatives across waste, water, energy, emissions and resource use
- Developing sustainability dashboards and employee engagement initiatives
- Ensuring registers, training records, risk documentation and corrective actions remain audit-ready
- Coaching leaders, supervisors and employees on practical safety and risk management

About You

- A tertiary qualification in WHS, OHS, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Senior-level HSE, EHS or HSES experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, laboratory, warehousing or another regulated operational environment
- Confident challenging unsafe practices and holding stakeholders accountable
- Comfortable working across both strategic and hands-on HSES matters
- Data-driven with strong attention to risk trends and performance
