About the role:
Our Host Employer, CAPS (Complete Air & Power Solutions), has been delivering innovative compressed air, power generation and industrial engineering solutions for more than 40 years. Established in 1980, CAPS has grown to support clients across the mining, construction, medical, manufacturing and automotive industries.

Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll gain hands-on experience assembling, installing, servicing and repairing industrial air compressors, generators and associated mechanical equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical trade skills while working with industry-leading equipment and technology used across some of Australia's most important industries.

Your duties may include:

- Using a variety of hand and power tools including battery drills, impact drivers, spanners, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, pliers and hammers
- Assisting with the assembly, installation and maintenance of compressed air and power generation equipment
- Operating workshop equipment including bench grinders, pedestal grinders and drill presses
- Learning to safely use hydraulic and mechanical lifting equipment
- Developing skills with pneumatic tools and precision measuring instruments
- Fault finding and assisting with mechanical repairs
- Following workplace safety procedures and industry best practices

Location: Welshpool, WA
Work hours: Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm

About you:

- Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
- Minimum completion of Year 12 High School
- Certificate II in Engineering and White Card highly regarded
- Genuine interest in mechanical fitting, engineering and industrial equipment
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Previous exposure to mechanical, maintenance, engineering or trade-related activities is advantageous
- Forklift Licence desirable but not essential
