We are currently partnering with an established passenger transport operator to recruit an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join their workshop team in Kyneton, Victoria.

About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join a professional workshop responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable and operational passenger transport fleet.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will undertake heavy vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance and fault finding, helping maximise fleet reliability and vehicle availability.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing, inspections and repairs on heavy vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, braking, suspension, drivetrain, cooling and engine systems
- Complete fault finding and diagnostics using specialised equipment and tools
- Carry out repairs and maintenance across a diverse heavy vehicle fleet
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards and workshop documentation
- Conduct vehicle safety inspections and ensure compliance with WHS requirements




- Assist with breakdown repairs and general workshop activities
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and vehicle reliability

About You To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle), or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Bus Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Technician
- Experience servicing and repairing trucks, buses, coaches or other heavy vehicles
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a workshop team
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Heavy vehicle licence highly regarded
