ZOOM Recruitment is currently partnering with an established and growing construction business to secure two Estimators - one Senior and one Junior for their Mackay team.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established Queensland construction business delivering a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

The Role

As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for developing accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates and tenders from initial review through to submission and project handover.

You'll be involved in:

- Reviewing architectural, structural, civil and engineering documentation
- Preparing detailed estimates, budgets and cost plans
- Completing quantity take-offs and detailed cost breakdowns
- Obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identifying project risks, exclusions, allowances and commercial opportunities
- Preparing professional tender submissions and commercial comparisons
- Building and maintaining strong subcontractor and supplier relationships




- Supporting successful project handovers to the delivery team
- Managing multiple tenders and competing deadlines

The role provides genuine exposure to projects from tender through to delivery, giving you the opportunity to work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and senior management.

What We're Looking For

Senior Estimator

- 15+ years' construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencing
- Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes
- Robust commercial and cost-management capability
- Experience with Cubit and construction management software
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines

Junior Estimator

- 1-5 years' construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of construction fundamentals
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
- Experience with estimating software, ideally Cubit
- A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop your estimating career

Experience across commercial, government, education, retail, industrial, minor works or maintenance projects will be highly regarded.
