Industrial Relations Specialist

This 12-month contract offers a diverse portfolio of work across complex employee and industrial relations matters, Fair Work Commission proceedings, Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, leader coaching, and projects.

This is an opportunity for an experienced IR professional who can quickly get across the work, provide trusted advice, and confidently navigate complex workplace issues. If you enjoy solving workplace challenges, building capability, and applying your technical expertise in a practical way, this could be the role for you.

Your impact:

- Manage complex employee and industrial relations matters, providing practical advice and solutions to leaders and stakeholders.
- Support Fair Work Commission matters, including unfair dismissal applications, disputes, and other workplace proceedings.
- Interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and employment legislation to support sound and compliant decision-making.
- Coach HR Advisors, leaders to build capability and confidence in managing workplace matters.
- Engage with unions and employee representatives to support positive industrial outcomes.
- Deliver industrial relations projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen capability, consistency, and compliance.

What you bring

- Strong experience in Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, or Workplace Relations within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and industrial relations principles.




- Experience managing Fair Work Commission matters and complex employee relations issues.
- The ability to interpret legislation and industrial instruments and apply them to practical workplace situations.
- Experience partnering with leaders and influencing sound decision-making on workplace matters.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, including experience working with unions and employee representatives.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and quickly establish credibility.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, supported by sound judgement, resilience, and adaptability.
- Qualifications in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
