About the Role:

At Barakat Motors, we are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining passenger vehicles and ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and roadworthy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Service and repair petrol engines and vehicle components.
- Inspect and repair transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems.
- Carry out scheduled servicing, including oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups.
- Remove, repair and replace defective mechanical components.
- Conduct testing and adjustments following repairs.
- Use vehicle diagnostic computers and manufacturer service information.
- Identify faults and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer specifications.




- Assist with vehicle inspections and roadworthiness requirements where applicable.

Requirements:

- Relevant automotive qualification such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment.
- Valuable knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current Australian driver's licence preferred.
