About the Role

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented full-time Pallet Controller & Finance Officer to join our Operations and Logistics team at our Penfield site. This pivotal role ensures the accurate and effective control of CHEP and LOSCAM hired pallets through close collaboration with interstate pallet control colleagues and external trading partners. With the full support of management, you’ll bring a process-driven approach, strong attention to detail and relevant experience to help maintain smooth, efficient and reliable operations.

Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:

- Resolve customer and trading partner enquiries, including invoice corrections and rejected transactions, in a timely manner
- Complete internal pallet reports for State and National departments and investigate CHEP/LOSCAM account anomalies or transactional queries between SCT Logistics and other parties
- Communicate regularly with local and interstate teams regarding non-compliant consignments and transfer weekly CHEP/LOSCAM dunnage pallets to the respective receiving states.
- Process hard-copy and electronic freight delivery documentation, match customer invoices and pallet dockets with delivery paperwork, and enter data into SAP
- Perform financial and operational administration, including managing the Accounts Payable inbox, processing vendor payments and weekly goods receipts in line with P&L; requirements and deadlines, assisting with data analysis, and ordering and monitoring office supplies
- Support the Customer Service team and manage the unattended reception area

Essential Experience and Requirements:

The successful candidate must:

- Have demonstrated experience in pallet control, finance, logistics administration or a comparable operational support role; knowledge of CHEP and LOSCAM processes will be highly regarded
- Possess strong systems capability, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills—particularly in Excel and Outlook—with experience using SAP and 2IC pallet management software preferred
- Communicate clearly and professionally, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality service and resolve enquiries for internal and external customers
- Apply strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, supported by a methodical approach, close attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Be a proactive, self-motivated and adaptable team member who can work effectively with minimal supervision, support colleagues and develop knowledge across the transport and logistics environment
