Site Engineer – Civil

Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ) Location: Dubbo

Roster: 3 weeks on / 1 week off
Hours: 10-hour days
Travel, accommodation and meals: Fully provided

The OpportunityWe are currently seeking experienced Site Engineers to join the delivery of the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ) — one of NSW’s major renewable energy and transmission infrastructure projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for engineers with a strong civil construction background and hands-on experience across substation, transmission, piling, foundations, geotechnical and concrete works.
Working as part of an experienced project team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of major civil and structural works, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, to specification and in line with project programmes.

The Role as a Site Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and construction teams to coordinate and deliver site-based engineering activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing technical engineering support across day-to-day site operations.
- Managing and coordinating civil construction activities, including piling, foundations, FRP/formwork, reinforcement and concrete pours.
- Supporting geotechnical works and ensuring construction methodologies align with project requirements.
- Reading, interpreting and working from engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Undertaking quantity measurements, take-offs and assisting with costing and variations.
- Monitoring construction progress against project programmes and identifying potential delays or constraints.




- Adjusting and updating programmes to reflect actual site progress, resources and changing construction requirements.
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved methodologies and specifications.
- Conducting inspections and supporting quality assurance across all civil works.
- Working closely with the construction team to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
- Maintaining accurate site records, reporting and engineering documentation.
- Ensuring all works are undertaken in accordance with project, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

About YouYou will be an experienced Site Engineer with a strong civil construction background, ideally gained across major infrastructure, energy or transmission projects.
We are particularly interested in engineers who can demonstrate practical site experience across:

- Piling and foundation construction
- FRP / formwork and reinforcement
- Concrete structures and concrete pours
- Geotechnical works
- Earthworks and civil infrastructure
- Substation construction
- Transmission line infrastructure
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Quantity take-offs and project costing
- Construction programming and programme adjustments
- Subcontractor coordination and site delivery

Experience working on major Australian infrastructure,



renewable energy, transmission or substation projects will be highly regarded.
You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment, communicating with multiple stakeholders and taking ownership of engineering outcomes.
What You’ll Bring

- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Site Engineer on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong practical understanding of civil construction methodologies.
- Proven experience with concrete, foundations, piling and/or geotechnical works.
- Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction programmes, quantities and project costs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Previous experience in the Australian construction industry.
- Ability and willingness to work on a remote/regional project on a 3:1 roster.
