Network Planning Engineers - 3 roles available: Engineer, Senior and Principal

We are seeking experienced Network Planning / Power Systems Engineers to join a major program supporting the future development of Victoria's electricity network.

With opportunities available across Engineer, Senior and Principal levels, these roles will support significant network growth and investment driven by major recent connections, including large-scale data centres and other high-demand customers.

You'll play a key role in assessing future electricity demand, identifying network constraints and developing the distribution and sub-transmission solutions required to safely and reliably accommodate major new loads.

The Role

Working within the electricity and energy infrastructure sector, you'll undertake and contribute to network planning activities across distribution, sub-transmission, zone substation and upstream networks.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Monitor and forecast network loading, utilisation and future capacity requirements
- Undertake network modelling, load-flow and contingency analysis
- Assess the network impact of major new connections and large electrical loads
- Identify emerging network constraints, risks and capacity limitations
- Develop planning requirements for distribution and sub-transmission network augmentation
- Assess requirements for zone substations and upstream terminal station infrastructure
- Develop and evaluate technically and economically viable network augmentation options
- Apply appropriate risk assessment and management techniques to network planning decisions
- Prepare and contribute to RIT-D and RIT-T assessments and reports
- Develop recommendations to support network investment and long-term planning
- Work closely with engineering, operations,



connections, asset management and other key stakeholders
- Provide technical input and assurance across complex network planning and augmentation initiatives

About You

We're interested in speaking with engineers who have experience within an electricity utility, DNSP/TNSP, power systems consultancy or similar network environment.

Your background may include:

- Electricity network planning or power systems planning
- Distribution and/or sub-transmission networks
- Zone substations and terminal stations
- Load and demand forecasting
- Network loading and utilisation analysis
- Load-flow, contingency and power system studies
- Network capacity and constraint assessment
- Major customer or large-load connections
- Network augmentation and investment planning
- Risk assessment and network planning methodologies
- RIT-D and/or RIT-T assessments
- Network modelling tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, SINCAL or similar
- Australian electricity network standards and regulatory requirements

Experience specifically within data centres is advantageous but not essential. Experience planning for other large customer connections, significant new loads or major network augmentation will also be highly relevant.
