PPT is one of Ballarat's most established and respected accounting and financial services firms, known for its technical expertise, personalised advice and long standing client relationships across the region.

This is an opportunity for an experienced public practice accountant who is looking for more than their next compliance role. The position offers genuine leadership responsibility, exposure to higher level advisory work and, for the right person, a long term pathway towards partnership.

The role is based at PPT's Ballarat office, with some flexibility to work from home. Melbourne based candidates are encouraged to apply, particularly those who are comfortable travelling to Ballarat and who would be open to relocating to Ballarat at some stage in the future.

About the Role

As a Manager / Senior Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio while playing a key role in mentoring staff, supporting business growth and contributing to the ongoing development of the firm.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Managing BAS, IAS, FBT and payroll tax obligations.
- Providing proactive business and tax advisory services.
- Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members.
- Building strong, long term client relationships.
- Supporting workflow management and team development.
- Working across a broad client base including agriculture, trades, medical, hospitality, retail and professional services.

About You

You are an experienced public practice accountant who is ready to step into a leadership role and is motivated by the opportunity to grow into a future ownership position over time.

You will bring:

- Solid experience in public practice accounting.
- Solid technical knowledge of Australian taxation.
- Degree qualifications with CPA or CA completed.
- The ability to build and manage client relationships with confidence.
- Leadership capability and experience mentoring staff.




- Strong communication and advisory skills.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, FYI Docs or similar systems.
- A long term mindset and genuine interest in progressing your career within a Ballarat based firm.
- A willingness to regularly travel to Ballarat.
- Ideally, an openness to relocating to Ballarat in the future.
