At Forward Ability Support, we’re a not-for-profit organization with over 60 years of experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries and similar neurological conditions to live independently and achieve their goals.
We’re currently seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our team in Newcastle, Oakhampton Heights, Wickham, Aberglaslyn and Arcadia Vale.
Current Available Shifts:
- Arcadia Vale: 6:00am – 9:30am | Minimum 2–3 shifts per week
- Wickham: 7:30am -10:30am / 11:15am, depending on the day | Potential for 2-3 regular shifts per week, with additional day/evening shifts available.
- Oakhampton Heights: Monday & Friday, 6:00am – 8:00am
- Aberglaslyn: Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, between 6:00am – 10:00am
- Newcastle City: 6:00am – 8:30am, depending on the day | opportunities to pick up additional shifts during the day, Monday–Sunday, depending on availability and participant requirements.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll provide personalized, high-intensity support within clients’ homes, including:
- Showring and hygiene maintenance
- Mobility assistance, transfers and hoist use
- Bladder, bowel and catheter care
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Household tasks and domestic support
- Community access using the client’s vehicle
- Completing daily progress notes

To join our team, you’ll need
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong English communication skills
- Prior work reference
- Compassion, reliability and a positive attitude
Please note: Attendance at the mandatory 3-day orientation and training program at our Lidcombe site is a compulsory requirement prior to commencing work.
Please note:
- You must be available to work short split shifts where required.
- All new team members attend a paid 3-day induction in Lidcombe.
