Purchasing Officer - Food Production
Cannon Hill, Brisbane | Full Time | $90,000

We are looking for a motivated Purchasing Officer to join our Procurement team. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of purchasing or procurement experience who is looking to further develop their career within a large and complex food production environment.

Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for raising purchase orders, managing stock requirements, following up deliveries, maintaining purchasing information, and helping ensure production has the materials it needs to operate efficiently.

This is a hands-on, operational role that will provide exposure to a wide range of procurement activities while offering opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

- Raise and manage purchase orders for ingredients, packaging, labels, film and other production materials.
- Monitor order status and follow up suppliers to ensure deliveries arrive on time.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and pricing data.
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the resolution of delivery, supply and stock-related issues.
- Assist with obtaining supplier quotations and pricing updates.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Stores and Finance teams to support daily operational requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes.




- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and quality requirements.

About You

You are organised, reliable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You may already be working as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Administrator, Procurement Officer or Inventory Coordinator and are looking for an opportunity to continue building your procurement career.

To be Successful You Will Have

- Ability to work onsite Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.00pm.
- 2-5 years' experience in a purchasing, procurement, inventory or supply chain role.
- Experience raising and managing purchase orders and supplier communications.
- Strong attention to detail and solid administrative skills.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate Excel and computer skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience within food manufacturing, production, FMCG or similar industries will be highly regarded but is not essential.
