About the role

As the Senior Manager, you will lead the strategic planning and delivery of Engineers Australia’s continuing professional development (CPD) portfolio, including national and international conferences, industry events, education programs and strategic partnerships. Working closely with members, industry leaders, volunteers and partners, you will drive innovative, high-quality and commercially sustainable experiences that deliver real value to the engineering profession. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of professional learning, grow industry engagement, and lead a passionate team committed to advancing engineering excellence across Australia and beyond. This is a fixed term opportunity until 31 January 2028.

In this role you will:

Lead and develop a high-performing national team delivering conferences, major events, industry partnerships and professional education programs.

Drive the strategy, growth and continuous improvement of Engineers Australia’s professional development portfolio.

Curate innovative, future-focused learning experiences that meet the evolving needs of engineers and industry.

Build strong relationships with members, volunteers, industry partners and stakeholders across Engineers Australia.

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of conferences, events and education programs, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and commercial success.

Manage budgets, contracts,



funding opportunities and operational performance to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Champion best practice, digital innovation and continuous improvement while contributing to EA’s strategic objectives and brand leadership within the profession.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Proven experience leading teams and/or complex projects with accountability for service delivery outcomes.

Extensive experience delivering conferences, events and professional learning programs, from small workshops to large-scale national events.

Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, identifying growth opportunities and delivering sustainable results.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across members, partners, volunteers and industry leaders.

Demonstrated ability to lead through change, manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Experience leveraging digital platforms, learning technologies, data and insights to enhance program delivery and performance.

A cooperative and customer-focused leader with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams.
