What you’ll do

As a Safety Lead - Assurance and Systems you will drive transformative change and shape the future of safety, health, and wellbeing across Primary Connect. Partnering with operations, national support teams, and senior leadership, you will champion continuous improvement, integrate emerging technologies, and embed robust risk management frameworks. It is an exciting opportunity to elevate safety standards, lead best-practice assurance, and make a tangible impact across a dynamic national network.

What you’ll do:

Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the Primary Connect Safety Management System and support the Woolworths Group One SMS.

Conduct thorough risk assessments across all project phases while implementing Material Risk Critical Controls and the Hazard and Effects Management Process.

Benchmark, research,



and evaluate new and emerging technologies or processes to drive innovative safety solutions.

Coach and guide project teams, operational leaders, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and internal safety standards.

Collaborate with the National Training Team to develop purposeful safety training and deploy effective safety communications.

Support, manage, and administer key Safety, Health & Wellbeing systems and contracts to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Deliver the Primary Connect and other BUs Safety, Health & Wellbeing assurance and governance program by conducting second line assurance activities and support the close out of non-conformities

Partner with the Transport Safety team to lead and conduct assurance activities on external parties

Please note, this position is VIC or NSW based and some travel is required.

What you’ll bring

Formal qualifications in WHS/OHS and an AU TL OH-45001 Lead Auditor certification in WHS/OHS Management Systems.

Proven experience working across safety-related disciplines, with a strong background in risk management and system assurance.

Exceptional analysis, problem-solving, and trend-analysis skills with a track record of driving innovative safety culture solutions.

Strong business writing, reporting, and verbal communication skills with high administrative accuracy.

Outstanding stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence, persuade,



and build strong relationships across a complex business.

Prior experience in project management, auditing, or working within self-insured organisations is highly desirable.

Flexibility to travel intra and interstate as required by the business
