Youth Residential Support Worker - Female applicants only

Ability Assist is seeking female Youth Residential Support Workers to join our team in Grovedale, supporting young people with complex needs and behaviours of concern. In this role, you will assist young people in their homes and communities, helping them build independence and enhance their wellbeing. Key Responsibilities:

Provide support and meaningful engagement to young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Support young people to develop independence and enhance their quality of life.

Encourage participation in activities aligned with each young person’s interests and goals.

Promote and maintain the safety and wellbeing of young people.

Assist with personal care and household duties, including meal preparation and cleaning.

Provide transport to activities, appointments and services as required.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to team-oriented care planning.

Requirements:





Due to the current needs of our clients, applications are open to female support workers only.

Flexibility to work a range of shifts across a 24/7 roster, including weekends.

Demonstrated experience supporting young people with complex needs and behaviours of concern.

Previous experience working in a residential care environment.

Ability to undertake the required DFFH note taking and reporting requirements is essential.

Ability to meet all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements for employment within the sector.

Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or an equivalent qualification.

Completion of the Residential Care Skill Set, including all four Trauma Top-Up units.
