ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Purchasing & Estimating Manager, you will lead the Construction Documentation team across WestUrban Construction and Clinton Grand.

You will be responsible for transforming developed designs into coordinated, buildable and construction-ready documentation, while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently from building permit documentation through to construction issue and shop drawing approval.





As the technical authority for construction documentation, you will work closely with Design & Planning, Construction, Estimating, Procurement and external consultants to ensure documentation quality, buildability and compliance across all projects.

This role offers significant influence across documentation systems, Revit standards, process improvement initiatives and team development, while contributing directly to project delivery outcomes across the Group.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Construction Documentation

- Lead the preparation and coordination of building permit and construction issue documentation.
- Ensure documentation is complete, coordinated, compliant and buildable.
- Coordinate structural, civil, services and energy consultant documentation.
- Manage revisions and maintain documentation accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

Shop Drawings & Technical Coordination

- Lead the review and approval of shop drawings and fabrication documentation.
- Coordinate detailing for joinery, staircases, façades, cladding systems and other architectural elements.
- Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure drawings are resolved prior to fabrication.

Buildability & Site Support

- Apply practical construction knowledge to improve documentation quality and site outcomes.
- Support construction teams by responding to documentation queries and resolving technical issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce RFIs, rework and site variations through improved documentation.

Systems & Continuous Improvement

- Develop and maintain the Group's construction detail library.
- Lead documentation standardisation initiatives across both brands.
- Maintain and improve Revit standards, templates and quality assurance processes.
- Implement efficiencies that enhance consistency, productivity and project delivery.

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, mentor and develop both onshore and offshore documentation teams.
- Manage workloads, quality standards and team performance.




- Support training, onboarding and professional development initiatives.
- Build a high-performing documentation function that supports the continued growth of the business.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Qualifications in Architecture, Building Design, Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience producing construction documentation for Australian residential projects.
- Strong experience across luxury homes, medium-density and multi-unit developments.
- Advanced Revit capabilities, including project setup, documentation and consultant coordination.
- Sound understanding of the National Construction Code, Victorian Building Regulations and Australian Standards.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating shop drawings and fabrication documentation.
- Strong construction knowledge with the ability to assess buildability, sequencing and detailing outcomes.
- Proven leadership experience managing documentation teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills and stakeholder management capability.

Experience within a design-and-construct builder environment and managing offshore documentation resources will be highly regarded.

LOCATION

This is a full-time, office-based position located in Mount Waverley, Victoria. Given the collaborative nature of the role and regular interaction with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will be expected to work from the office five days per week.
