We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer responsible for our clients flagship mobile app - a platform used by millions of Australians every day.

This is an opportunity to work on a high-profile digital product at genuine national scale, building current features, improving the customer experience and helping shape the technical direction of the Android platform.

You will work as part of a cross-functional squad alongside Product, UX, QA, Security and other engineering teams, with the opportunity to contribute from solution design through to release.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

- Design, build and release Android features end to end using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Apply strong knowledge of Android fundamentals including XML, Activities, Fragments, background work and permissions
- Work with Coroutines, structured concurrency and Flow across production Android applications
- Contribute to architectural decisions, considering technical trade-offs and helping establish engineering standards
- Apply strong Android architecture principles across MVVM, MVI, MVP, dependency injection and layered architecture




- Work confidently within a large, multi-module codebase, respecting module boundaries and dependency rules
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of Jetpack Compose, including state management, recomposition behaviour and Compose UI testing
- Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews, testing, design patterns and engineering best practice
- Work with and modernise legacy Android code, identifying opportunities to reduce technical debt
- Participate in solution and design reviews, help shape API contracts and collaborate with other digital teams on integration points
- Work closely with Product, UX, QA and Security stakeholders to deliver a strong customer experience
- Contribute to Gradle build tooling, version catalogs and CI/CD configuration
- Clearly communicate technical decisions and explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers through pairing, code reviews and knowledge sharing
