Job Description

Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the organisation while contributing meaningful commercial and operational insight at Board level. This is a highly visible, hands-on position requiring an accomplished hospitality leader who is equally comfortable engaging with members, developing a team and managing the financial and operational disciplines of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead, coach and develop the team while maintaining consistently high standards of personalised service

- Drive member experience, membership growth and revenue across food and beverage, functions and events

- Take ownership of budgets, payroll, expenditure controls, payments and relationships with external professional advisers

- Partner effectively with the Board and relevant committees,



translating operational insights into practical recommendations

- Review systems, policies, work practices and property requirements, implementing considered improvements while protecting the organisation's character and service culture

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced hospitality executive with a strong understanding of high-touch service environments. You will bring the commercial capability required to lead a multifaceted operation alongside the interpersonal skills, discretion and presence needed to build trusted relationships with members, the Board and employees.

You will ideally demonstrate:

- At least five years in a General Manager, Chief Executive or comparable whole-of-business leadership role within a private members club, boutique luxury hotel, lodge, resort or similar hospitality environment

- Robust food and beverage knowledge and a genuine commitment to personalised member and guest experiences

- Experience reporting to a Board or ownership group and working effectively with committees and diverse stakeholders

- Sound financial and commercial capability across budgeting, payroll, expenditure management and business controls

- A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with sound judgement and the ability to introduce operational and systems improvements thoughtfully
