Laboratory Technician – Colour Management & Quality Control

Working within our laboratory and quality team, you will support the testing, evaluation and consistency of coatings and inks. The position suits someone who enjoys practical laboratory work, accurate measurement, colour assessment and problem-solving. Previous industry experience will be well regarded but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine laboratory testing and general laboratory duties.
- Support colour matching, colour measurement and colour consistency activities.
- Conduct quality control checks on raw materials, work in progress and finished coatings and inks.
- Prepare samples, maintain accurate test records and report results.
- Assist with investigations into colour or product performance variations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, work areas and materials in a clean and organised condition.
- Follow established quality, safety and environmental procedures.
- Work collaboratively with production,



technical and quality colleagues.

About you

- A relevant qualification or practical experience in laboratory work, chemistry, colour, coatings, inks, manufacturing or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, consistent work.
- Positive colour perception and an interest in colour management.
- Sound communication, record-keeping and basic computer skills.
- A practical, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience with coatings, printing inks, colour measurement or quality control is desirable but not essential.
