ReSource Pty Ltd is recruiting two engineering interns to develop an operational multi-camera imaging and identification station. We recover, test and remarket used IT equipment through our IT asset disposition (ITAD) operation. Your work will help our team capture better images and asset data with less manual processing.

ReSource Pty Ltd is recruiting two engineering interns to develop an operational multi-camera imaging and identification station. We recover, test and remarket used IT equipment through our IT asset disposition (ITAD) operation. Your work will help our team capture better images and asset data with less manual processing.

What You Will Build

ReSource plans to supply a working proof of concept using a Sony A7 III camera and version 1 software. You will build on it, with freedom to improve the hardware and software within the budget and agreed maintainability requirements.

Together, you will develop:

- The physical station: camera selection and positioning, lighting, fixtures and a practical operator workspace.
- The vision pipeline: device-focused images, background removal or cropping, serial-number and product-label crops, barcode reading and optical character recognition (OCR).
- The integrated workflow:



authorised access to RazorERP (our asset-recording system), accurate asset matching, automatic posting of validated, high-confidence items, and operator review of exceptions.
- The operational handover: tested hardware and software, clear error recovery, source code, build and maintenance documentation, and operator training.

The intended scope includes laptops, desktops, servers, phones/tablets, network equipment and components such as HDDs, SSDs, RAM, CPUs, motherboards, GPUs and PSUs. You will agree representative test items and acceptance criteria with the technical team early in the project.

The design target is under 30 seconds per device from capture trigger through processing and RazorERP upload, excluding operator handling. It is a target to validate, not a reason to trade away accuracy or reliability. ReSource retains safety and production-release approval.

What You Need

We are looking for final-year or Masters students and recent graduates with complementary strengths. Relevant backgrounds include robotics/mechatronics, mechanical, electrical or software engineering, and computer science.

Across the pair, we need practical hardware/prototyping capability and strong Python, computer-vision and API integration skills. You do not need to be an expert in everything. Show us what you have built,



how you tested it and what you learned when it did not work.

You can apply individually or as an existing pair. Each applicant will be assessed on their own capability and the complementary strengths of the pair.

What We Train You On

We will introduce you to our ITAD workflow, the supplied proof of concept, RazorERP requirements and site safety procedures. You will have two scheduled technical sessions each week, plus support as needed from our founder and internal technical team, with practical input from the ITAD operations team.

The intended commitment is 12 weeks full-time within the November-February summer window, allowing for the Christmas shutdown. University course credit, if sought, is subject to university approval.
