We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Graduate Development Programme and build a rewarding career in the mining industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience in the mining industry while developing technical, operational and leadership skills.

You'll begin with a 3-6 month placement in our Brisbane office, gaining exposure to mobile equipment maintenance, asset management and engineering support functions. You will then transition to one of our open cut coal mining operations, where you'll work alongside experienced maintenance and engineering professionals supporting a large mobile mining fleet.

Throughout the programme, you'll receive structured mentoring, practical on-the-job training and valuable exposure to a range of engineering and operational disciplines, providing a strong foundation for a successful career in mining.

Key Responsibilities





- Assist with the management and optimisation of mobile mining equipment performance and reliability
- Support maintenance planning and scheduling activities
- Participate in asset management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyse equipment performance data and maintenance trends
- Assist with defect investigations and root cause analysis
- Support project work relating to fleet improvements and maintenance strategies
- Work closely with maintenance supervisors, planners, tradespeople and operational personnel
- Contribute to safe work practices and Golding's strong safety culture

What We're Looking For

- Recent completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building capabilities
- Ability to relocate to a regional mine site following the Brisbane office development period
- A commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
